About the Lecture

Today's lecture is about the communication patterns of male and female.

In the beginning, the lecture touched the culture difference. i guess north america is the most equal place in the world and english is the most equal language. for example, in china, calling teacher or parents by their names is very unpolite and unacceptable. but here, it's quite normal and actually i know teachers don't want to be called as Mr.*/Mrs.*. so culture does effect language.

Talking about the communication difference between male and female, i agree with most of the contents, but i don't think women willing to put themselves down, especially the educated women. and i just noticed from the slices that research of the TV debates was conducted at least 10 years ago. so i am thinking that maybe we could get another conclusion if we do the same research today.

At last, i want to say something about the lecturer, Scott( i hope the spelling is correct^_^). he really did a great job. The main ideas are presented very clear, and many interesting examples were given as well. besides, Scott knows the audients very well so he always explained those words and expressions that he thought we might not konw in advance. it really helped me to understand the lecture better.

hey, i think i agree with u about the tv program research. as u said, different times have different atomosphere, maybe 10 years ago, women were still not allowed to speak too much. but for me, it's quite an interesting lecture cuz u can see a lot of interesting observations between male and female. i even realized sometimes i have patterns the same as the one which was mentioned by mr. scott. anyway, i agree with u. this is a really good lecture.

Hi Maggie,

Your blog is so beautiful, wau! I was wondering how did you put the name of our classmates on left side of your blog page. Would you mind telling me how can I do the same thing in my blog?

Thank you,

Adriano.

Hi!

Thanks for your comments about my little lecture. It seems the ideas have got a lot of people talking. Please see my blog for a reaction to some of the comments from students in both classes.
